I worked on the team that created, designed and curated the social media campaign behind Guide Beer, a lager for our great outdoors.

In addition, I had the opportunity to create and enact our Guide Ambassador Program, and influencer program comprised of the best fishing, white water and adventure guides around SweetWater’s distribution footprint.

Guide Beer was created with a purpose – giving back to a group of people who have given us so much. 11% of profits from Guide Beer support guides in need, whether that’s due to illness, injury, or natural disaster.

Guide focused, grid designed.

During my time at SweetWater Brewing Company, I had the opportunity to work close with the launch and campaign of Guide Beer, a lager for the great outdoors… including creating the Instagram. We decided to go with a grid theme to showcase the lifestyle photography featuring some of the most badass guides in the industry.

With Guide Beer, I had the opportunity to write and send blogs and email communications regarding the program and the beer itself. In September 2019, we announced the first Guide Beer recipient. See below for excerpts from the blog and the short video I created.

Cleve Evans is exactly the kind of guy we had in mind. A veteran panhandle guide based near Mexico Beach, Cleve’s house suffered severe damage from Hurricane Michael to the point that engineers deemed it unrecoverable. Almost a year later, Cleve and his wife are still living in a temporary trailer in their yard, in the shadows of downed trees and their home. The insurance company has fought them and FEMA offered little assistance.

In early August of this year, our owner and founder Freddy Bensch presented Cleve with the first grant from the proceeds of Guide Beer, in hopes that the contribution will help him get back on his feet and sharing the joy of fishing.
